For many years, publicly since 2008, GM Drum School has carried on the flag of pluralism in the teaching of musical styles, as opposed to the decadent system of the "Teacher Guru I know everything".
There is no teacher in the world, however good he is, who can teach every style of music competently, in the same way that there is no university professor who can teach all subjects at university.
Every teacher gives the best of himself in the fields where he himself is or has been a professional, useless to try to study metal from someone who professionally has only played Jazz. Needless to study Pop from someone who professionally only played Metal.
And for the Latin-Jazz-Ethnic style we are happy to present once again a star, a true ace of the musical genre in question, someone who has experienced this music and to interpret it has been chosen as a significant exponent at the highest levels of the international music scene.
We are talking about Mr. Israel Varela, Mexican drummer, a musician who boasts collaborations with international music stars Jazz, Flamenco, Classical and Pop such as: Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, Yo Yo Ma, Mike Stern, Bireli Lagrene, Bob Mintzer, Diego Amador, Kamal Musallam, Bob Sheppard, Jorge Pardo, Hiram Bullock, Abe Laboriel, Andrea Bocelli, Alex Acuna, Gary Willis, Pino Daniele, Kai Eckhardt ,Montse Cortes, Raimundo Amador, Alfredo Paixao, Otmaro Ruiz, Carles Benavent, John Pena, Rene Toledo, International Philharmonia of the Californias, Orchestra of Baja California, Javier Colina, Michael Manring and many more.
Here's a video of Mr Varela at work:
