The reverberation of drums and snares will be the leit motiv of the 2nd edition of the music event The Workshop of Drums, a focus on the world of drums organized by the association Holiday in Music, with a live set that will involve 30 drummers, free masterclasses and open to all, concerts and, again, the personal exhibitions of contemporary art by Jimmy Rivoltella and Valeria Vaccaro.
After the C.S.F. bodywork Nichelino, which hosted the first edition of the event, on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December the stage that will welcome The Workshop of Drums moves to the first multipurpose center of Fiat Industrial in the world, inaugurated in September, the Fiat Industrial Village Street Seventh 223 in Turin.
On Saturday, December 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the music showcase will be a guest of the "Open Doors" initiative of Fiat Industrial Village that will have an exceptional testimonial: Miki Biasion, protagonist of the Dakar 2012, the most important rally in the world that will kick off the January 1 from Mar della Plata in Argentina and ending in Lima, Peru, on January 15. To crown the presentation of the event, The Workshop of Drums presents a review of concerts, masterclasses with well-known drummers and a playful workshop entitled "The music", on the art of building musical games with recycled materials, curated by Joseph Ippolito.
In the exhibition space the tradition of tribal sounds will intertwine with the rhythms of jazz, pop, progressive rock and metal, without excluding cultured and acoustic music, vocal virtuosity, to involve fans and insiders in a two-day that promises all-round music, but also a session reserved for clinics, free and open to all, held by prominent drummers and endorsers of well-known companies in the sector. On Saturday 3rd you will be able to follow the lessons of Pier Foschi, former drummer of Jovanotti and Yan Maillard, Swiss drummer who played with the American singer Charlie Dominici opening the concerts of Dream Theater. And again by Sergio Fanton and Leonardo De Lorenzo.
For the companies involved in this adventure, the musicians will present all the market news and technological innovations. In fact, they will put in place real masterclasses on the most disparate aspects of interest. From purely technical ones, to artistic implications and stylistic peculiarities. "Music and professionalism will be engaged in a team game that will attract the insiders, but that will also meet the curiosity of the public and music fans and especially the drums", say drummer Gianluca Fuiano and Antonella Solimando, the creator and artistic director of L'Officina dei Tamburi and president of the Holiday in Music Association, respectively.
During the day there were numerous musical performances: The Dream Trio (Nico Di Battista, DB guitar; Gianluca Fuiano, drums; Claudio Bonadé, sax); classical and acoustic guitar recitals by Domenico Martucci; Gino Borio with Ivrea's United Guitar Ensemble; ancient music concert for voice and piano "From the Florentine Camerata to the 900" with Frank Polacchi and Roberto Giglio. And, in the evening, two appointments with the song of the author: after the recital of Luigi Antinucci with "I… Robinson" , concert of Flavio Bonifacio's trio.
Sunday 4 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., in the vehicle exhibition space of Iveco, New Holland and FPT Industrial, great music marathon. Live special with 30 drummers from all over Italy, among them many thick names: Stefano Bagnoli and Roberto Gualdi, better known as "The Devil and the Holy Water", engaged in a journey from rock to jazz; Maxx Furian, former drummer of Laura Pausini and Max Pezzali; Pier Foschi, former drummer of Jovanotti; Sergio Pescara, acclaimed rock drummer with prestigious collaborations; Gilson Silveira, creator of the Samba Communique project composed of 20 percussionists; Luca Turolla, percussionist and curator of the Tuklata LAB project, a fusion of rhythms traditions of various countries (Cuba, Brazil, Africa) and more recent languages; Furio Chirico, well-known progressive drummer and founder of the group Arts and Crafts; Gianluca Fuiano, counts collaborations with Beppe Vessicchio and Solomon Burke; Giorgio Gandino, creator of the ensemble The Drums of Canavese; Igor Dezzuto, classical and pop concert pianist; the multifaceted Luciano Beccia; Francesco Farinelli, rock drummer; Paolo Narbona, jazz drummer of the Turin circuit; Carlo Bellotti, percussionist and drummer, took part in two editions of the Sanremo Festival; Mamagari Drums Duet, a drum ensemble contaminated by different styles, from funk to rock; Elvin Betti, eclectic drummer played with the Tribà, Brothers of Soledad, Friends of Roland and other well-known bands; Efisio Murgia, arranger, has collaborations with Roberto Vecchioni, Mina and Lucio Battisti; Jacopo Coretti, with a large resume often addresses the fusion genre; Marco Volpe, a well-known jazz musician, also played on international stage; Gianni Insalata, Puglian, blues and jazz drummer with a distinctly African-American touch; Leonardo De Lorenzo, also a jazz composer with a large discography; Riccardo Lombardo, young talent in rock fusion; Stefano Incani, pop rock, accompanied Ivan Cattaneo and Fiordaliso on tours; Gigi Morello, a well-established didatta, has also played in several television broadcasts and collaborated with Claudio Baglioni; Elisa Pilotti, of the band Missbit, rock drummer, counts supporting roles in the concerts of Vasco Rossi, Carmen Consoli, Negrita and Giorgia; Raphael Saini, brazilian, is one of the most accredited metal drummers; Sergio Ponti is a young drummer from Turin, with many prestigious progressive international collaborations, and is part of Syne; Carlo Cannarozzo, rock drummer for House of Noises.
